Kang'e Saiti
Kang’e Saiti was admitted to Partnership at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on
1 July 2008 as an assurance partner in the Kenya firm. He has been with PwC for 11 years specializing in financial services and Audit.
Kang’e joined the firm after graduating from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and having completed his CPA exams. His specialty is in the banking industry, with experience in corporate, retail and private banking, as well as consumer finance, leasing and off-shore investment management.
During his career, Kang’e has worked in PwC’s UK and Tanzanian firms and auditing some of Africa’s and the world’s largest financial institutions. He has worked on a number of complex projects brought about by regulatory and accounting changes, such as Sarbanes Oxley and IFRS conversions. Kang’e has also been involved in listing clients on the London Stock Exchange and preparations for listing on the US markets.
He is married with two sons. He is an accomplished chess player, avid golfer and football fan.
Ananya Sen Gupta
Ananya Sen Gupta has been appointed as a Director in the Corporate Finance Recovery team. She joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Kenya in March 2001 as a consultant in Management Consulting Services and has been with the Corporate Finance & Strategy team since 2002.
During her tenure at PwC, she has carried out a number of assignments in corporate finance and privatization, particularly in the African financial services and consumer & industrial products sectors. Over the past few years she has focused on private sector financial due diligence, M&A advisory, as well as valuations & strategy.
Ananya has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at the ICFAI Business School, Mumbai, India, with a dual finance and information technology specialisation. She graduated with top rank from IBS Mumbai and was awarded the Tata Finance Medal for the top ranking student and the Director’s Award for merit in the first year. She also has a first class Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electronics & Telecommunications) from the University of Pune, India.
Ananya is married with one son.
Nikhil Hira
Nikhil Hira has joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Kenya as a Director in the Tax practice. An experienced tax specialist, Nikhil’s immediate focus will be on advising PwC’s clients on Indirect Tax matters and delivering Direct Tax services.
Nikhil rejoins professional practice after several years in commerce. He has had previous experience at PwC legacy firms, other professional firms and in global and local industry. One of his major highlights was developing an Indirect Tax practice in East Africa specialising in value added tax and excise duties.
He has been an active member of the Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya – particularly of its Public Finance and Professional Standards committees. He was also a regular public commentator on topical tax matters and was instrumental in establishing the current regime of VAT refund audits by professional firms. He holds BSc joint honors in Accountancy and Process Engineering and is a member of ICPAK Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
He is married with two daughters. He is also an active member of Rotary where he has been involved in organizing the annual rally for disabled kids. Nikhil has a passion for theatre and is often remembered for the plays he acted in at the Phoenix theatres in the nineties.
