Eight Caribbean and Bermuda PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) firms will now be known as the ‘C8’ after establishing a regional network as part of a united effort to improve services to local, regional and international clients.

The eight PwC member firms are the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, the Eastern Caribbean (Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis), Jamaica, the Netherlands Antilles (Bonaire, Curacao, and St Maarten) and Aruba, Trinidad and Tobago and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

“The C8 is a tightly knit regional network that embodies PwC’s ‘connectedthinking’ vision,” said PwC Cayman Islands Senior Partner and C8 Boardmember Nick Freeland. “It’s all about sharing strategies, insights, knowledge and, ultimately, enhancing PwC’s ability to create value for all of our clients. Each of our member firms is now connected, resulting in a truly regional network.”

Everton McDonald, newly appointed C8 Chairman and PwC Jamaica Senior Partner, said the C8 network connects the skills, expertise and industry knowledge of approximately 80 partners and 1,400 staff in 15 countries in the English and Dutch-speaking Caribbean. “We have come together as successful individual firms to create a powerful regional network – one with far greater horsepower than any other professional services provider in the Caribbean,” he said.

“For many years the PwC firms in the Caribbean have been cooperating in one way or another to service clients, but now we will be able to do so consistently and on a much larger scale.”

The C8 Chairman said that regional networks such as the C8 are the model that PricewaterhouseCoopers is embracing the world over, with similar networks in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
